Frank Ford

Frank Ford was born in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Upon graduating high school, he joined the U.S. Army where he was trained as a Cavalry Scout. Frank was assigned to Fort Hood, Texas where he served in the 2nd Armored Division and the 1st Cavalry Division. Frank deployed for Operation Desert Storm. He received multiple awards, including the Army Commendation Medal with a V device (for valor). Frank left active duty in 1992, but continued to serve in the Texas Army National Guard and the Army Reserve.

After the Army, Frank attended Texas State University. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science (Summa Cum Laude). Frank then attended Texas Tech University School of Law on a Regents’ Scholarship where he earned his Juris Doctor (Cum Laude).

Frank began his legal career as a litigation associate with Allen, Stein & Durbin, P.C. in San Antonio, Texas. Frank represented multiple insurance companies (State Farm and Travelers, for example) in first-party bad faith lawsuits arising from auto and homeowner’s claims. Frank also handled a variety of complex litigation including products liability, personal injury, Civil Rights, wrongful death and creditor / debtor rights.

In 2008, Frank was called to active duty as an Army Judge Advocate for deployment to Afghanistan. Frank spent 13 months in Afghanistan. He primarily focused on fiscal law for Combined Task Force Castle. But, he was also co-Counsel for the government in two Courts Martial involving assault and sexual assault. Both trials resulted in convictions. Frank received multiple awards, including the Meritorious Service Medal.

Upon his return from Afghanistan, Frank continued to work at Allen, Stein & Durbin, P.C. However, in 2011, duty called again. Frank was deployed to Afghanistan a second time where he served as the Deputy Staff Judge Advocate and Chief of Contract and Fiscal Law for the Joint Sustainment Command-Afghanistan. All told, Frank provided legal oversight for over $1 billion in spending for the war effort. Frank received multiple awards, including the Bronze Star Medal. Frank remained on active duty upon his return to the United States, serving as the Deputy Staff Judge Advocate for the 4th Expeditionary Sustainment Command and as Soldier’s Counsel for Physical Evaluation Boards at Fort Sam Houston, Texas.

Frank left active duty in 2015 to work as an Assistant District Attorney in the Civil Section of the Bexar County Criminal District Attorney’s Office. Frank represented Bexar County in Civil Rights litigation, personal injury suits, employment cases and administrative hearings. He successfully litigated Civil Rights cases at all levels, including the U.S. Supreme Court. Frank also represented the State of Texas in civil asset forfeiture actions arising out of criminal activity.

In 2018, Frank left the Bexar County Criminal District Attorney’s Office and founded Ford Law Firm, PLLC. Frank represents individuals, families and companies in Civil Rights, wrongful death, insurance disputes, personal injury, creditor/debtor rights, products liability and commercial litigation. Frank also represents government employees in civil service matters and military service members in  administrative actions.

Frank has been a licensed attorney since 1999. He is licensed in all four U.S. District Courts in Texas, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court. Frank is a member of the State Bar of Texas and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
